Removal at home in 10 Easy steps

You will need the following to remove the UV polish at home.

  •   1 - Nail File
  •   1 - Wooden orange wood stick
  • 10 - makeup / cotton remover pads
  • 10 - square pieces of tinfoil approx 4"x4"
  •   1 - Pure Acetone

  1. wash your hands with liquid soap and warm water.  Towel dry.
  2. Use a nail file to gently buff the shine off the top layer of the shellac polish.  Making sure to break the seal on     the end.
  3. Saturate the remover pad in pure acetone, place on top of the nail plate, use a piece of tinfoil to wrap around each finger to ensuring a snug fit.   Repeat for all ten fingers.
  4. Leave the tinfoil wrap on the finger for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Securely grip each finger and apply slight pressure to the fingernail, using a twisting motion, pull off the wrap and
    product from the fingernail.
  6. If a significant amount of UV Polish remains on the nail (due to extended wear or other unique situations), re-wrap   the nail and allow acetone to penetrate a few more minutes.
  7. If necessary, gently slide off any remaining product with an orange-wood stick.  Be careful not to scrape away the
surface layers of the natural nail plate.  Be gentle!
  8. Rub the nail with a lint-free pad soaked with acetone to remove any additional product residue.
  9. Wash your hands with liquid soap and warm water. Towel dry.  Finish with a cutical oil.
  10. After the nail plate has fully dried, use a soft buffing block and gently buff your nail plate to a beautiful natural shine.

FAQ

  • Q.    Who is UV Polish best suited for?
  • A.    UV Polish is for people who want to maintain natural nails.  The formulation looks as good from day 1 to 14+ days.
  • Q.    Who is UV Polish least suited for?
  • A.    Those looking to lengthen their nails.  You cannot use UV Polish to create a longer nail.   Also, UV Polish isn't for clients with extremely damaged nail beds, split or peeling nails.  It is best to get on a corrective program with The Finishing Touch Esthetics before thinking about Shellac.  If your nail is peeling off, it will take the UV Polish with it.
  • Q.    How is UV Polish different from the traditional polish manicure?
  • A.    Typical nail polish dries by evaporation, which means your manicure/pedicure is not cured until 2-3 hours after your service.  Think about it most of your manicure/pedicure time is spent waiting for polish to dry. But UV Polish is cured by UV light, and within minutes.  Your nails are completely dry by the time your manicure/pedicure is over, and strong enough to withstand accidental knocks.   It acts like a plasticized coating, suitable as a long lasting polish.
